Treeps is a study performed by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) in collaboration with the Energy Saving Trust (Transport advice for businesses and local authorities). The research aims to understand the leisure and holiday habits of the people living, working or studying in the Greater London area.
The research is run within the broader SWEET Lantern project, funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, to support the transition to a low-carbon society.
The Treeps study is divided into two parts: Part A and Part B. All Treeps participants will be invited to participate in the activities of Part A. Only a few participants, selected at random, will participate in Part B.
Part A
In Part A, participants will be invited to answer two short online questionnaires (lasting approximately 10 minutes each). The questionnaires will be conducted in the following periods:
- Soon after the registration to join project activities (April/May 2026);
- In November 2026.
Part B
Some of the Treeps participants, randomly chosen by the SUPSI researchers, will be invited by email to download a smartphone application (app) and install it on their phone. They will then be invited to freely interact with the application, as and when they like it.
Invitations to download the app will be sent in May 2026. It will be possible to interact with the app until the August 2026.
Results
The results of the project will be available in late Winter 2026/2027.
